All alumni and friends of the UTHSC College of Pharmacy have an exciting opportunity this spring to assist their College and help recognize Dr. James C. Eoff, III who has given so tirelessly to the College for more than 40 years. A group of dedicated Pharmacy alumni drafted the plan to name the student affairs administration suite in the new Pharmacy Building to honor Dr. Eoff.
“There is no more deserving colleague and leader to honor,” said Jana Fuqua, Pharm.D., ’77 and Billy Regel, Pharm.D., ’72 who came up with the idea to ask all Pharmacy alumni and friends to support the project. “This is a great opportunity to help the College of Pharmacy financially while also letting Dr. Eoff know just how much he means to so many of his former and current students.”
“Dr. Eoff’s greatest legacy to our College is likely his advocacy for students,” Fuqua went on to say. “Dr. Eoff assisted thousands of us during our school years. What a positive impact he has had on our College of Pharmacy in so many ways. To me and many others, Jim Eoff is the face of the College of Pharmacy.”
Pharmacy alumni who are serving as class representatives by year will soon be reaching out via email, telephone and mail to ask each classmate to make a gift to the Jim Eoff Student Affairs Administration Suite Gift Fund. The naming goal of $250,000 will provide much-needed funding for the College while also allowing the College to name the student affairs administration suite in Dr. Eoff’s honor.
“We want to reach and exceed our goal of $250,000 by June 30 so that we may plan a celebration of Dr. Eoff and a naming ceremony at the Student Affairs Administration Suite when the fall Pharmacy students arrive on campus,” said Billy Regel. “This will be a great time of gathering to recognize Jim for all he has done for us.”
